GW Hatchet
In September 2018, I began writing for the GW Hatchet as a culture reporter. My stories range from highlighting fun activities and events for GW students to attend throughout the district to profiles about students and restaurants on campus.
The Archer Oracle
I began writing for my high school’s newspaper The Oracle when I was a sophomore. As a junior, I was promoted to the Voices Editor, and during my senior year, I became the News & Features Editor. Our staff Pacemaker award and a First Amendment Press Freedom Award in 2018, two of the highest honors a high school newspaper can receive.
Three of my stories were selected for the Best of Student Newspapers Online’s website, and my profile “‘Bus driving saved me’: An’twon Colvin’s Road to Happiness” was selected as one top the stories during Scholastic Journalism Week by the Journalism Education Association in 2017 .
